10 Kid-Friendly Pools That Will Make Your Vacation-Starved Eyes Water

These are so beautiful, you'll want to immediately pack your bags.

Though families often don't agree on everything when it comes to vacation, there is one thing you and your children can certainly get behind: a great pool. A recent HomeAway Kidpinion Travel Survey confirms just that, with 77 percent of parents saying a pool is important to them during vacation, while kids ranked it highest on their vacation must list.

Whether you’re planning on taking your trip soon or just getting inspired for your next great family adventure, these are some of our favorite pools for every season of travel that are just as beautiful as they are kid-friendly.

The Don Cesar in St. Pete Beach, FL

This historic and iconic Florida hotel, dubbed the “Pink Palace,” has dreamy Mediterranean vibes set overlooking the white-sand beaches of St. Pete Beach. With two large heated pools and spacious accommodations, it’s an ideal year-round vacation spot for families. Additionally, the Don Cesar pool offers many kid-centric activities, including a competition for younger children around the pool called Kidz Kraze, along with “dive-in” movies on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., where you can experience the charm of a drive-in movie theater right in the middle of a pool.

Mountain Grand Lodge and Spa at Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne, MI

Open all year, Boyne Mountain Resort’s indoor-outdoor heated pool will be just as great on a lazy summer day as it will be during peak ski season. Your family will never get bored at Boyne Mountain either, with access to Deer Lake beach and all of its water activities, scenic biking trails and chairlift rides, and daily s’mores for the young ones (and let’s face it, you too!) during the summer months.

Massanutten Resort in McGaheysville, VA

You’ll quickly understand how Massanutten Resort could have a pool this large when you learn that the resort is set on over 6,000 acres. With its gorgeous mountain views, you could spend the earlier part of a day at the aptly named Peak Pool before making your way over to Massanutten’s indoor water park. It’ll be hard to pick between the two, though, because the pool’s private cabanas are perfect for some lazy family relaxation time, while the water park boasts a water fortress—an amazing playground jungle gym smack in the middle of a pool—and tons of body slides.

Monte Carlo Bay Hotel & Resort in Monte Carlo, Monaco

Just down the road from the famed Casino Monte Carlo, this incredible pool is surrounded by a lush garden of palm trees and Mediterranean Sea views. Doubling as a swim club for local families in the summer and adjacent to an adorable ice-cream stand and a bar full of smoothie, juice, and snack options, it’s a very kid-friendly pool in an exotic location you’ll surely enjoy.

Split into multiple levels and sections, Monte Carlo Bay Hotel’s pool has a lagoon-like area where you and your little ones will be able to feel the sand beneath your feet just like you’re at the beach. There’s also a hot tub pergola where parents can sit and relax while they watch their kids in the adjoining pool, which is connected via three wooden bridges.

Bonus: Nestled in the beautiful Cote d’Azur, both Monaco and the South of France’s charming towns and cities will be at your family’s fingertips: Eze, Nice and the picturesque town of Saint Paul de Vence—which will bring Belle’s Beauty and the Beast village to life for your kids—and they’re all within an hour’s drive.

With over 5,000 gallons of water, Moon Palace Cancun's massive pool is one of the biggest you and your family will ever see. It's so big, in fact, that it is separated into three sections that are interconnected like a series of islands around thatched roof restaurants and five different swim-up bars.
