March of Dimes Foundation
The March of Dimes illness policy allows parents to use any or all of their 10 paid sick days to care for children or other dependents.
Women hold 84% of all positions at this New York City nonprofit, and their influence as decision-makers is strongly felt. Representing half of all corporate executives and two thirds of senior managers here, women help shape female-friendly policies such as one that grants six months of job-guaranteed leave to new birthmothers, with an additional two-week “nesting” period before their due dates—even when it’s not medically required. New moms are fully paid for at least six of those weeks, while birthfathers and adoptive parents receive a week of paid leave. In keeping with its long-standing mission to help women deliver healthy babies, the foundation covers all maternity health expenses, plus all well-child medical coverage until kids turn 18. And taking time off for medical checkups isn’t just permitted—it’s encouraged. Parents can use any of their ten paid sick days to care for children or other dependents.
