Wonderful Happenings

Posted on January 29, 2010

Sometimes wonderful happenings just fall into place.  I received an evite from Dee Dee Mendez to a party to meet her 4 month old baby, Mercedes Eve. I really wanted to go.  Dee Dee is a Feng shui expert who helps companies and individuals. Vivacious and smart, I wanted to wish her well in her new role as working mompreneur. But it was a challenging night because I had other friends in from out of town, none of whom knew Dee Dee.  Deepika Bajaj was in from our West Coast office to work with us on the event we’re hosting in India, and Aida Sabo was in from Columbus, Ohio to attend our Flexibility Leadership Summit the next day.  Aida brought her colleague, Monica with her.

What to do with so many people to see and so little time?  I e mailed Dee Dee to see if all  4 of us could come to the party-- including 3 people she had never met!  We were welcomed with open arms and soon we had the life of the party—Baby Mercedes-- in our arms.  And what a magnificent baby she is! This girl has lips like cherries and thighs like a miniature Suma wrestler.  Deepika, Aida and I could barely stand it.  We took turns holding and cooing and rocking Baby Mercedes, and knew that we were at the best party in the city that night.  Thank you Dee Dee for a wonderful girl’s night out!  And welcome Baby Mercedes to a world full of loving Aunties.
