A Whopping 74% of Workers Would Quit Their Jobs to Work from Home

Working moms love work-from-home jobs because of all of the flexibility they provide, but it looks like they aren't the only ones that prefer to telecommute.

According to a new study from Softchoice, an IT solutions company, 74 percent of the 1,000 office workers they surveyed would leave their current jobs for a new work-from-home opportunity—even without receiving a pay raise at the new job.

This demand for virtual work could be due to increasingly advanced workplace technology that allows people to get the job done at any location.

“Cloud, mobile and unified communications technology continue to break down silos and help employees to be more productive and collaborative from wherever they do their best work,” said Francis Li, Vice President of Information Technology at Softchoice. “As a result, what employees increasingly want is a seamless experience where they can access content, connect with colleagues and share files, and be productive from anywhere.”

The study also found that 85 percent of the participants expect their employers to provide them with technology that allows them to telecommute and that 83 percent are already working with people in different locations.



It seems that employers have already taken note of how much workers love working from home. We have recently seen companies make hundreds of jobs available to remote workers from across the country.

We can probably expect this remote job trend to continue. Millennials in the survey were twice as likely as older participants to feel more productive and equipped to work at home. According to Li, companies will continue to try to meet this employee demand.
