WHAT’S COOL Despite a shortage of women in electronics and engineering, this tech company is working hard to achieve gender equity: 27% of vice presidents are female, as are 21% of corporate officers and 26% of all new hires.

CHILD-CARE CHEER The company has employees’ child-care needs well covered, providing discounts on full-time care at hundreds of child-care centers nationwide and subsidizing backup and sick-child care in Dallas and Tucson, AZ. In Texas, three major locations host summer and school-holiday camps.

FLEX ABILITY
To lighten the load for busy parents, the company encourages the use of alternative scheduling arrangements. Most staffers can change their hours on a daily basis to meet personal or family obligations—and nearly 60% did so last year. Meanwhile, more than half of all employees telecommute either formally or informally.

NOTABLE NETWORKS
The com-pany’s six Women’s Initiative Networks offer career events and mentoring opportunities to help female employees advance. A Women of TI Fund sponsors math, science and technology programs for young women, including a physics camp for high school girls.
