FLEX APPEAL With operations that run all day, every day, 24/7 coverage is critical for this health-care organization. Having nearly a quarter of the staff use flextime works for both the employees and the company. Staffers receive benefits after logging just 18 hours a week.

CHILD-CARE KUDOS Two on-site child-care centers with discounted fees let moms and dads breathe easier. Parents enjoy special savings at many local facilities, and backup care is available, too.

LEAVES WE LOVE New moms can take up to seven months of job-guaranteed time off, with six weeks at full pay and ten weeks at partial pay. Dads and adoptive parents receive one week of paid leave. When moms are ready to return to work, they can arrange a transitional schedule that fits their needs.

BALANCE BOOSTERS It pays to be calm: More than 1,600 female staffers completed online wellness seminars last year, including a stress management class called Finding Time, as part of the firm's wellness program. They not only learned how to reduce stress, but also earned credits that can be used to reduce health-care premiums.

REENTRY REWARDS Former staffers become part of an alumni network and receive regular updates about job opportunities. Those who resign and return within one year are reinstated with their former benefits.
