FLEX APPEAL Most of the employees at this family-owned company take advantage of several types of flex, either changing their schedules each day, working from home or compressing their weeks. The company supplies computers and other office equipment to staffers who telecommute.

CHILD-CARE KUDOS A new $2.5 million, 10,000-square-foot expansion added ten new classrooms to the company's day-care center, centrally located between two worksites and serving nearly 400 children, from newborns to kindergartners. When moms and dads travel for work, their child-care costs are reimbursed.

LEAVES WE LOVE Birthmothers with one year of service receive 12 weeks of maternity leave beyond the 12 legislated by FMLA, with two weeks at full pay and ten weeks partially paid. Dads and adoptive parents receive two weeks at full pay and four at partial pay. For each additional year of service, new parents receive an extra two weeks of leave at full pay. New moms can ease back into the office by working part-time for six months.

STRESS SOLUTIONS The Overnight Hotel program eliminates the commute home for anyone working late. Employees who live more than 25 miles from work can stay at a local hotel for just $20.

WHAT'S GREAT The firm's Mentoring Up program helps its leaders better understand the career struggles and goals of working moms and dads by pairing corporate officers with employee parents for a year or more.
