FLEX APPEAL Flex is nothing new for this firm: It instituted its first alternative work program back in 1974—and hasn't slowed down since. Despite the fact that 40% of staffers already telecommute and 100% flex their hours, the company just launched a new task force to encourage more workers to use flexible schedules.

CHILD-CARE KUDOS Moms know they can always find someone to look after their little ones, thanks to a resource and referral service that helps them locate high-quality full-time, part-time and backup care. They may also stash up to $5,000 in pretax dependent-care accounts, with a 10% company match.

LEAVES WE LOVE Of the 16 weeks of leave given to new birthmoms, managers receive six at full pay, while non-managers get four weeks fully paid and two partially paid. After two years of employment, all mothers get six weeks at full pay. New moms may take up to eight weeks to phase back into their jobs.

TEENS & TWEENS Parents don't have to look far to find academic support for struggling kids: A homework hotline staffed by teachers is available. Teens can tap on-site consultants for help editing their college essays.

SPECIAL NEEDS Adoptive parents receive up to $9,000 to cover costs. Those who adopt children with special needs are eligible for $10,000.
