I Need a Game Plan
December 07, 2008

Everyday Baby Steps

Where has this year gone?  Can you believe it's nearly Christmas?  With the New Year quickly appraoching, I've decided now is probably a good time to consider my goals for the upcoming year.  I've felt very scattered lately.  With Christmas shopping, writing, and kids' activities, I've found myself on auto pilot.

Sometimes you need to switch to auto pilot just to get things done, but living your life on cruise control is not ideal.  Without goals and a plan, you're not working toward your potential.  I've found this to be the case for me.  When I have a game plan in mind, I achieve more and live life with purpose, thus feeling more accomplished.

I intend to write out a life plan to help steer me in the right direction.  My plan will include short-term and long-term goals in the following areas - personal development, family life, and work/writing.  By breaking things down, you provide focus to your goals.  Also, goals must be realistic and should be measurable.

I feel a huge sense of relief having taken the steps to begin to formulate my plan of action.  I'll share the basics of that plan when it's completed.  How about you?  Are you in?  Tell me your plan of action for the New Year.
