To the media: don't judge working mother's opinions from a few blog entries

This is in response to the comment that the media is protraying working mothers as "2-1" against Sarah Palin because of the few negative blog entries on this site. Just because I (or others who happen to support Palin as a working mom) haven't had the time to write a lengthy post extolling WHY we like her doesn't mean we're not here. Do a survey or make some calls, but don't make an a s s umption (had to do that so it doesn't get bleeped out) that this represents the pulse of working women. Frankly, many of us are too busy working to pen something cutting and crafty in her defense.

No matter what one's opinion is, we must stand up for other women and appreciate their accomplishments. We have the REAL opportuntunity to have a woman in the White House. How lucky are we!

Inga - Where and to whom did you call? Let's mount a campaign to clear up the mis-information! Again, NONE of the bloggers here are employed nor paid by Working Mother Magazine. We're all just moms with varying opinion, though I think the mis-information given to the media was no accident.

I was so angry at the representative of the Working Mother magazine when she stated that 2 to 1 readers of Working Mother magazine voted against Sarah Palin's acceptance of VP. I didn't believe it then - I don't believe it now. And I would like to see and read those comments. I already called Fox and CNN and stated that, in my opinion, the information was false. I recommend everybody to do at least that.

I recently saw a representative from your magazine on FOx news channel. I really resent her side comments and the opinion of a "poll" from your magazine reporting and insiuating Sarah Palin does'nt and should'nt make an effort one of the highest offices of the land; because she is the mother of five and her first priority should be her family. I am so disguisted with the slanted reporting from the media. You don't speak for me and my hardworking daughters.

Hmmm. Just the other morning Carol Evans was quoted in a story on the cover of the Baltimore Sun saying "(readers were)...mostly in support of her as a working mother." http://www.baltimoresun.com/business/bal-te.bz.mothers04sep04,0,1392493.story LaxMom - thanks. I am not a professional blogger, either. I, too, own my own business while trying to raise my 12 and 14-year old daughters. I support Palin's decision to go for it.

Is anyone else unable to pull up the blogs that were there previously? It would be interesting to see how much truth was to the "Working Mothers" *** that 2:1 margin were against Palin running for office. I wrote to Working Mother asking how to see all the blogs and their entries (I couldn't even retrieve mine that had been *** by others) and haven't received any reply. Could Working Mother be a political wolf tabloid in lamb covering?

It's true... Carol Evans, Working Mother's President and CEO was on FoxNews. It was she that touted the 2:1 statistic that indicated that working mothers didn't support Governor Sarah Palin's decision to accept the VP nomination. That's exactly why I jumped on this blog. I've been a long-time subscriber of Working Mother and couldn't sit back and let the interview with Ms. Evans be the last word about how "working mothers" feel about Governor Palin. Let me be clear on this blog, and to the media, I am full support of Govenor Palin's choice to be mother of five and candidate for Vice President of the United States. I am a true working mother (not a professional blogger) who has three very active boys. I worked for over 20 years in Corporate America and now own and operate my own company. I'm truly inspired by Governor Palin's courage, talent, and commitment to serve our country. Now, this is just one subscriber's opinion, but something tells me that I'm not the only "true" Working Mother magazine subscriber that feels that way...

It was a representative of the Working Mother magazine who stated that 301 to 176 were against her taking the nomination (My numbers are from memory and may not be accurate.) I responded to the magazine that THEY are the culprit, with 2 blogs against and only the Military woman for.

I appreciated the ONE woman in the press who pointed out that bloggers on this site may not even be working women...rather nay-sayers who want to discredit Sarah Palin (perhaps scared Democrats?). It is absurd that we even have to have a working mothers magazine...is there a working fathers magazine? Working Mother magazine should have to pay Sarah Palin for all the free press they received. Before this debacle I would have never visited this website or the magazine!
