Beauty Alert

Problem: You’re a self-proclaimed makeup junkie—your vanity is overflowing with lipglosses, mascaras and eyeshadows galore. (And that’s not even counting the products scattered in your bathroom cabinet.) But with your massive collection of goods, you can never recall when you started using a particular product—which you should take note of, since makeup can go bad. (Old cosmetics may contain bacterial growth that can cause irritations or infections.)

Solution: Keep your face up to date! Though your makeup might not come with an expiration date, you can simply create your own with Beauty Alert! Stickers ($8.50 per pack, beautyalert.biz). Each package contains 24 specially-designed stickers (guidelines for product life are listed on each sticker sheet). Just peel off, stick on to your product on a clean, dry surface and write in the date you first opened it with a permanent marker. And then discard the item once it has expired. Remember: “Beauty is timeless. Beauty products are not.”
