Debevoise & Plimpton has a long and rich history of developing and promoting women lawyers as leaders within the firm and within the community more broadly. Women fill half of the associate and counsel positions at Debevoise, and since 2008 have earned the same proportion of promotions to partner as men.  The firm also supports community activities including the Debevoise Women's Resource Group, which sponsors programs focused on the professional interests of women at the firm.
