Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation is a national organization dedicated to eliminating pediatric cancer and to providing hope and support to those who are touched by it. The mission is carried out through three key programs.
The Small Miracle Program serves children (ages 0-19) that are Illinois residents and/or are being treated in the pediatric oncology department at a major Chicago area hospital. A Small Miracle is something special, unique and brightens the life of a child going through cancer. The family support services of this program offers a child’s immediate family support for financial burden or circumstances of need. We have begun and are planning to expand this portion of the program nationally based on support and needs.
Medical Research Grants are awarded each year nationwide primarily to junior investigative researchers and senior graduate student researchers who make meaningful advancements and discoveries towards finding cures and therapies for various types of pediatric cancer.
Information and Support Service Grants are awarded each year nationwide to pediatric oncology facilities and organizations for programs or projects that directly impacts patients, their families and hospital facilities.
