Sidley Austin
Offers a reentry program for lawyer moms.
This New York City–based firm, one of the world’s oldest, works hard to make new associates feel welcome. Each is matched with a mentor, usually from his or her practice group. The firm’s Committee on Retention and Promotion of Women also hosts an orientation to introduce them to the committee’s projects and offer tips to get off to a good start. New female associates in New York and Chicago are assigned to “mentoring circles,” supportive networks of lawyers from different practice areas.
