Hi! Thanks for reading my blog. I’m Nicole Celestine and I’m proud to be a working single mom, raising my 6-year-old son, Ezra. I enjoy spending quality time with my son. We live in Washington State in the Pacific Northwest.
Like most moms, I wear many different hats, one of which is as a happy employee of the U.S. government with the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington State. As a program analyst, I work closely with managers to ensure aviation safety across the US and the world. I enjoy job security and stability with the US government and the opportunities they have, for employees to grow.
I’m also a Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force Reserve, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash. I have been in the Reserve for about five years as a Public Affairs Specialist. I enjoy working with the media, escorting press, writing stories, taking photos and meeting new members of the community including children and youth.
With the freedom to have a flexible 8-hour work schedule, I can make time for myself, take care of my needs, pursue outside interests and get all my errands done on time. I enjoy photography, music, computers, and am looking forward to branching out into my own business venture in the future. I am also a new American, having only migrated here from Trinidad and Tobago in 2001. I attained my citizenship in 2006.
My son Ezra attends kindergarten and cannot wait to begin first grade. He is a loving, curious, and bright individual. I am so blessed to be his mom and have the responsibility to mould such an inquisitive mind.
When I am not working, Ezra and I enjoy reading stories together, watching movies with popcorn at home, attending church activities, kids’ plays, and visiting friends and family. Having family traditions are important to me, and Ezra and I have started our won with taking the Thomas the Train Engine ride every summer since 2007, visiting Santa on the Santa Train, from Snoqualmie, Wash and attending a local children’s theatre productions. We hope to go on our first ‘road trip’ around the famous Olympic Loop in Washington State, this summer.
