A new study of 3,000 college students and young professionals by Cisco finds that a third of them consider internet connectivity as important as life-sustaining food and water. Slightly more than half will not accept an offer from a company that bans social media. The majority—70 percent—say being regularly in an office is not necessary. Further, 30 percent of those who haven’t entered the workforce yet view flexibility (in location and schedule) as a fundamental workplace right, not a privilege.
