As Senior Director of Talent Management, Teresa Hopke oversees critical areas that impact the engagement of McGladrey’s 7000 employees. Prior to assuming this role in early 2008, she served as the Director of WorkLife Strategies for 5 years developing and implementing innovative programs that support the personal and professional success of employees. She also worked as a consultant for Mercer helping clients develop work-life strategies and researching employee and employer views on work-life issues. Ms. Hopke is a frequently requested speaker whose work has been featured in the books Battling to Be The Best, Innovative Excellence, Workplace Flexibility Innovation in Action, and The Working Gal's Guide to Babyville, and media outlets such as the CBS Morning Show, NBC Nightly News, NPR, WSJ, Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, Money Magazine, and many more. As a result of her efforts, Hopke's company is a multi-year recipient of both Working Mother Media’s “100 Best Companies”, The Conference Board's Moving Into the Future award, and the Alfred P. Sloan award. Her work also secured the Alliance for WorkLife Progress (AWLP) Innovative Excellence award, Minnesota Work-Life Advocate award and the Working Family Resource Center’s “Ellen McCormick Wray Award”. Hopke herself was awarded the WorkLife Rising Star award by the National Alliance for Work Life Progress and continues to be an active member of the Rising Star Advocacy Committee. She is also a faculty member for World at Work, a board member for AWLP, and an active member of and contributor to AWLP, Corporate Voices for Working Families, The 3rd Path Institute, and the MN WorkLife Thinktank. Ms. Hopke has a background in Sports Psychology and Exercise Science from the University of Minnesota and a Masters degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from MN State University. She lives in New Prague, MN with her husband Jonathan and two young sons Kyan and Brexten.
