Surnia Wang is the Vice General Manager, HR Recruitment for Asia Pulp & Paper Co. (APP). APP is one of the world's leading pulp and paper companies and is ranked the largest vertically integrated pulp & paper producer in Asia, excluding Japan. APP currently has its principal operations located in Indonesia, with 21 major manufacturing facilities around Asia and markets its products in more than 100 countries on six continents.
In her current role, Mrs. Wang leads a global HR team in China, Taiwan, Indonesia, USA and Europe to conduct executive and talent search. Her main role is to design, build, and lead a quality worldwide talent acquisition function to fulfill the talent needs of a fast growing company. Mrs. Wang has developed and executed recruiting strategies to enhance the company's visibility and reputation in key recruiting markets. She also assists the Operating Business Units in implementing business optimization initiatives by delegating, coaching, developing and managing a diverse and geographically dispersed team to accomplish business goals. Mrs. Wang has designed and implemented the “Management Trainee recruitment project” by involving current senior managers and senior trainers of the Corporate University at various stages of the recruitment process to mentor the next generation of aspiring leaders for the company. Under Mrs. Wang’s leadership, APP ensures “people development” remaining at the forefront of its global promise to grow its market share.
Mrs. Wang is a veteran in the HR Recruitment field. Prior to joining APP, she spent 4 years with Horton International China in varies senior management position. She held senior HR management and general management positions for many multinational companies including Bank of America, UBS, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Coca-Cola Taiwan Ltd., ING Baring Securities and JP Morgan Fleming Taiwan Group;
Mrs. Wang is a certified HR and Coaching professional, with a Public Administration degree from the renowned National Taiwan University. Mrs. Wang had a colorful life experience prior to her HR career. She was a pop music radio show host in Taipei, Taiwan while she was attending university in Taipei. Mrs. Wang loves travel. After graduating from National Taiwan University, she joined Cathy Pacific Airline as a fly attendant to fulfill her travel dream.
Mrs. Wang is married with two children.
