Steve Bucherati is currently the Chief Diversity Officer for The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, Georgia. Having developed and led the Company’s Workplace Fairness function since February, 2001, Steve assumed the additional responsibilities of leading the Company’s domestic Diversity function in January, 2005, with added responsibilities for the Company’s global operations in September, 2007.
In this role, he is responsible for leading diversity and fairness as a fully integrated part of the Company’s business strategy and all of the Company's people strategies and programs.
Steve also had the lead management role with the seven-person diversity Task Force created as a result of the racial discrimination lawsuit settled by Coca-Cola in December, 2000. Working with the Task Force, chaired by former Secretary of Labor, Alexis Herman, Steve managed a team-based Company effort that moved Coca-Cola from that litigation settlement to a #2 ranking on DiversityInc’s 2008 “Top 50 Companies for Diversity”, as well as a Top 5 ranking for both the 2006 and 2007 survey years.
Since joining The Coca-Cola Company in January 1991, Steve has served in a variety of Human Resources roles, as well as serving as Coca-Cola's Civic Affairs Manager for four years.
Steve is a graduate of University of Maine, the Leadership Atlanta program, and just completed his term as Board Chair for the Equal Employment Advisory Council (EEAC), where he still serves on the organization’s Executive Committee.
