Sonia Campos was born in São Paulo. She graduated in Math, Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (UNITAU) and Master in Business Administration (ITA).

Sonia began her GM career in 1985 and has held many positions at GM: Manager of Quality Operation, Director of Planning & Production Control and Materials Management, Powertrain Operation for Brazil and South America, and Plant Manager in Eisenach, Germany. In 2011, Sonia Campos was appointed GM Brazil Mogi Plant and São Caetano do Sul Complex as Plant Director. She was responsible for the latest four launches in São Caetano do Sul. She was the first woman supervisor in manufacturing organization in the second half of 90’s, as well as General Assembly Manager.

Sonia also is studying to receive a doctor’s degree in Production Engineering in 2013. She is specializing in Lean Transformation including - Lean Manufacturing, Lean Material System Implementation, People Development, Long Term Strategy Development, and others.
