Simi Ahuja
South Asian Women’s Leadership Forum (SAWLF) - Women's Organizational Meeting
Simi Ahuja is the managing partner of SA & Associates, a full-service marketing and communications firm that links South Asian corporations with the U.S. business community and helps them to effectively communicate within their target market. SA & Associates serves U.S. clients by offering fully integrated marketing, business development, and PR solutions that enable organizations to establish brand, products, and services in the desirable yet largely under-recognized and under-served South Asian demographic.
In 2003, Simi founded the South Asian Women's Leadership Forum (SAWLF), the first national, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of South Asian women professionals. SAWLF serves as a primary business and networking platform for South Asian women. SAWLF strives to raise awareness and visibility for South Asian women in the marketplace and mainstream media through its speaker’s bureau; monthly events; research; and mentoring programs. SAWLF Mentors offers underserved teen girls the opportunity to meet and shadow South Asian women professionals in positions of leadership, responsibility and authority. The collaboration offers SAWLF members the chance to share their experience and directly impact young women at a critical stage of their personal development. Student participants are between 11 to 19 years of age and represent New York City high schools in Queens, Brooklyn and the Bronx.
Today, Simi also serves as a consultant to individuals, institutions and the media on the changing business landscape (i.e. emerging market opportunities) and the critical issues that impact the South Asian demographic in the US and abroad. Through their family foundation, Simi and her husband actively support freedom of the media, human rights and women’s and girls initiatives in the US and abroad.
