Sandra Long
Sandra Long is currently Vice President, Business Development for Pitney Bowes in the North America Mailing division. She works to grow PB revenue by expanding relationships with key industry and vertical associations and organizations. Sandra has an extensive background in sales, sales management and business development across many Pitney Bowes businesses.
Pitney Bowes has a robust corporate social media presence that focuses on brand awareness and engagement. The company is using social media monitoring platforms as it moves towards applying listening data to make business decisions. Pitney Bowes recently introduced a social media training and certification program for employees on all levels. Sandra and her team are becoming certified with this program this fall. Sandra is an early adopter of LinkedIn which she uses for lead generation and business networking. She is now in the process of developing a social media strategy to complement the business development activities that she is responsible for.
Sandra is also the author of the monthly column, “Ask Sandra,” in Quick Printing Magazine which provides insight to print shops about growing and transforming their businesses to leverage mailing and marketing services. One key topic that Sandra has written about in her column is the integration of hard copy mail with digital communications and social media. The value of mail is greatly dependent on its digital relevancy.
In her spare time, Sandra helps college students with networking and internships. She is in the process of co-authoring her first book on this topic. Sandra will be using Twitter and Facebook to pre-launch the book in 2013.
Sandra is a graduate of the University of Rochester, and has been a working mother for 26 years. She has two children, age 26 and 22, both graduates of Colgate University. Her son is also a recent veteran serving in Afghanistan as an Army officer.
