Peter Fontaine has served as the General Counsel of RSM McGladrey, Inc. since he joined the firm in October 2005.  He has responsibility for managing the Company's legal, compliance, risk management, and government relations functions.

Before joining RSM McGladrey, Fontaine briefly served as vice president and general counsel for American Express Tax and Business Services. He also spent a number of years as a partner at Arthur Andersen, where he managed the legal support for its global business consulting practice.  Prior to entering the professional services industry, Fontaine had a long career at Digital Equipment Corporation, holding numerous positions, including general counsel of its semiconductor manufacturing subsidiary.

An honors graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and the New England School of Law, Fontaine has also completed comprehensive professional development programs at the Harvard Law School and the European Institute of Business Administration (INSEAD).
