Pamala Silas is Chief Executive Officer of American Indian Science & Engineering Society (AISES). AISES’ “full circle of support” model engages students beginning at the 5th grade level all the way through the height of their educational and professional careers. AISES members work in all sectors including, government, corporations, educational institutions as well as tribal government. An enrolled member of the Menominee Tribe a descendent of the Oneida Tribe of Wisconsin, Pam has a BS in Economics from DePaul University.
Prior to AISES, Pam lead community organizing efforts in some of Chicago’s most impoverished neighborhoods. She has also lead efforts to promote business, community arts, housing, policy and education. She began her career in the corporate sector and over the past 20 years, served in numerous public and tribal leadership roles, including; Chicago’s Council on Women, the Menominee Indian Tribal Gaming Commission, the Native Ways Federation.
