Michelle Tortolani

Fellow and Past President, Society of Women Engineers

Michelle Tortolani is a Fellow, Life Member, and Past President of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE). She served on the Society’s Board of Directors from 2001-2008 and as President in 2007-2008. She has been a strong advocate for broadening STEM outreach, partnering with diversity-based organizations, professional development programs, and public policy initiatives. In 2009, she was selected a Fellow of SWE for technical and program management excellence, long-term commitment to the society, and promoting engineering to women nationally and internationally. During her career, Michelle has worked at industry-leading defense and telecommunications companies in senior engineering management positions. She is currently an Engineering Program Manager for advanced concept RF systems at Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems. She earned her B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Boston University. Michelle is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Women in Technology, and 2011 At-Large Director for the American Association of Engineering Societies.
