Michelle A. Ferrer, Esq. - Partner, Plata Ferrer & Gutierrez LLC:  Ms. Ferrer is a business and trusts and estates attorney. In addition to providing legal and business counsel to companies, she focuses her practice on advising individuals and business owners on all aspects of estate planning.  Using her law and business degrees, as well as her first-hand experience as a business owner, she is able to understand clients' issues and concerns and provide them with legal solutions based on their individual needs.  

Ms. Ferrer's practice includes creating estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, and ancillary documents.  The estate plans range from outright wills to more complex tax-minimization trusts.  Ms. Ferrer's practice also includes services related to Medicaid Planning, Medicaid Applications, Special Needs Planning, and Guardianships. Promoting a strategy that focuses on early planning, she assists clients in developing a strategy to protect assets, plan for incapacity, and protect those with special needs.

Prior to founding Plata Ferrer & Gutierrez LLC, Ms. Ferrer worked at a division of a large investment firm, where she provided estate planning and wealth management services to executives at fortune 1000 companies. She also managed several family-owned businesses, and uses that knowledge to advise PF&G's business clients. Ms. Ferrer also sits on the board of two charitable organizations, Guardians of Healing, Inc. and Hispanic Business Council Scholarship Foundation of NJ, Inc.  

Ms. Ferrer is a graduate of Fordham University, where she studied Spanish Language and Literature and Political Science. She obtained her Juris Doctorate from American University - Washington College of Law. During her tenure, Ms. Ferrer spent a semester in Chile and Argentina, where she studied International Law. Ms. Ferrer earned her Master's in Business Administration from American University - Kogod School of Business. She is admitted to practice law in the State of New Jersey and the State of New York.
