Mary Hough is Vice President of Talent Management for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), headquartered in McLean, Virginia. SAIC is a FORTUNE 500® scientific, engineering, and technology applications company that uses its deep domain knowledge to solve problems of vital importance to the nation and the world, in national security, energy and the environment, critical infrastructure, and health. In 2009, SAIC annual revenue was $10.8 million with approximately 45,000 employees. Mary is responsible for the design, development, and integration of company-wide strategic talent management initiatives including succession planning, high-potential talent management, career development, and performance management. She also leads the HR strategic planning process and enterprise-level HR communications. Since joining SAIC in May 2005, she has led the design and implementation of the Talent Management Review, which focuses on identifying and developing high-potential talent in the organization. Mary has led career path initiatives related to program management, systems engineering, line management, and business development. Prior to joining SAIC, Mary led the talent management function for American Management Systems, a government contracting organization acquired by CGI in 2004. She was responsible for driving a company-wide talent management strategy to ensure that AMS had the leadership and technical capabilities to deliver nearly $1 billion of products and professional services annually. She also integrated and managed key HR practices and functions that directly supported talent development at AMS. For a number of years, Ms Hough was president of The Charles Group, Inc., a human resources consulting firm, specializing in organizational development, strategic planning and performance management. Clients included Marriott Lodging, Charles E. Smith Realty Companies, Wang Federal Systems, BDM Federal, Inc., The National Association of Social Workers, The Council on Social Work Education, and American Management Systems, Inc. Ms Hough holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, IL, and a Master of Business Administration from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources and a former board member of the Northern Virginia Chapter of SHRM. She is a member of the Talent Management Executives Council of The Conference Board, the Human Resource Planning Society, and SHRM.
