Karol Rose
Karol Rose has worked at the forefront of the work-life effectiveness field – a term she coined – for over 25 years. She led the work-life practice at such organizations as PricewaterhouseCoopers and TimeWarner Inc., and created many ‘firsts’ in the work-life field, including developing one of the first on-site back up child care centers in the country. As a consultant, Karol developed, designed and implemented innovative flexible work practices and culture change initiatives for numerous Fortune 500 companies. Her work has impacted the work and lives of managers, employees, and HR leaders. Karol created and was the contributing editor for the FORTUNE magazine’s annual work-life and human capital special features, and authored five previous books on work-life and flexible work issues that have been recognized as ‘bibles’ in the industry. Her new book is The Agile Workforce and Agile Workplace: A Flexibility Primer for The New Future of Work (Working Mother Media, 2011).
Karol is a Principal, Advisory Services and Business Development at FlexPaths (www.flexpaths.com), a women-owned business that has provided flexibility software and solutions to companies like P&G, Cardinal Health, John Deere, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield and American Express. In her past role as FlexPaths’ Chief Knowledge Officer, Karol’s work and subject matter expertise formed the foundation for many of the online tools and resources in FlexPaths’ software products. She now works directly with clients to advance their flexible work environments using these innovative products, which reduce costs, and attract and engage diverse talent by enabling managers, employees, and other internal stakeholders to successfully implement, manage and value flexible work.
