Jose Garcia is a diversity and inclusion executive at Bank of America. He manages Bank of Americas diversity and inclusion strategic alliances and sponsorships. His 24-year career with Bank of America began in 1985 as an Internal Auditor. Garcia has held several leadership positions in finance, including Internal Control Manager and Mortgage Accounting Manager for Florida, Securities Exchange Commission Reporting Manager and Global Corporate Investment Banking Finance Manager. He also was Principal – Business and Resource Manager for Global Markets Administration and Business Support Executive for Global Middle Office. Most recently, he was Diversity Sourcing executive and led the diversity recruitment efforts across all Bank of America lines of business. Garcia graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Puerto Rico in 1984 with a Bachelors degree in Accounting. During his career, he has attained multiple professional certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Bank Auditor (CBA), and Certified Financial Services Auditor (CFSA). He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt. Garcia is one of the founders of Bank of America’s affinity group, the Hispanic/Latino Organization for Leadership and Advancement (HOLA). He is also a founding director of the ALPFA (Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting) Charlotte Chapter and currently serves on their Corporate Advisory Board. He served on the ALPFA National Board in 2004 and 2005. He is a member of the American Institute for Managing Diversity Board and the YMCA of Greater Charlotte - Simmons Branch Board. He is also a member of the Corporate Alliance Program at Johnson C. Smith University. Garcia, a native of Cuba, and his family live in Charlotte, North Carolina.
