Joanne Kugler is currently the Chief Information Officer and Senior Executive, for GE Energy’s Power and Water Business. Power and Water is a $19 Billion dollar business that manufactures gas and steam turbines, wind and solar power, aero derivative engines, water and process technology solutions, nuclear and small gas engines around the world. She leads a three hundred person Information Technology team that is responsible for business process improvements, applications and infrastructure.
She began her career in 1983 with GE on the Financial Management Training Program. She held various positions in Finance, Customer Service, Benefits, Training and Education. In 1994, she joined the area of Information Technology. She has held various positions within IT, most recently as the Chief Information Officer for GE’s Global Research Center.
Joanne serves on the Board of Directors for Girls Inc. of the Capital district in NY. She is currently the co-leader of the Women and Technology Initiative at GE, and leads recruiting at Cornell University for GE’s Information Management Leadership program. Joanne previously served, as the Power and Water Ombudsman, and Leader of the GE Women’s Network in Schenectady.
Joanne is a graduate of Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economics. Joanne lives in Valley Falls, New York with her husband Thomas and their two children, Alex and Whitney.
