Jim Pendergast
Jim is currently the Administrator for Human Resources at the University Of New Mexico Hospitals, and has been there since 2002. Jim has spent twenty-five years in Hospital Human Resources and thirty-six years in Human Resource positions. Jim graduated from Canisius College, in Buffalo NY, and then graduated from Syracuse University with a Masters in Public Administration, from the prestigious Maxwell School.
Jim has worked in the public and private sectors, beginning with the Personnel Office for the City of Syracuse, followed by time with Sikorsky Aircraft, City of Norwalk, and Broome County. Jim’s first Hospital experience was with Upstate Medical, which was followed up with the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, and now UNMH.
Jim’s first love was Labor Relations and has negotiated numerous labor contracts, and won over 90% of his labor arbitrations. Jim has also taught adjunct at Syracuse University, Madison Community College, and University of New Mexico. Jim has been President of NYSPELRA, Vice-President of CONNPELRA, and a NPELRA Board member, Vice President and President.
Jim and his wife Melanie live and work in Albuquerque NM, where Melanie has chaired not for profit Boards and golf related activities. Jim has done work for the Boys and Girls Club of Albuquerque, and Four Hills Golf Club. Jim has also coached High School basketball, and is certified in Wisconsin, and New Mexico.
