Jim Norman has been with Kraft Foods for more than twenty-nine years. He began his career in Operations Management in 1980. Over the next six years he worked in various manufacturing assignments of increasing responsibility; Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Production and Shipping Supervision before moving into his first Human Resources role as Assistant Human Resources Manager for the Oscar Mayer Foods Chicago Facility. Jim moved to Madison, Wisconsin in 1988 where he was Human Resources Manager for Louis Rich-Focus and Growout Facilities. Later, he served as Human Resources Manager for Louis Rich in Modesto and Tulare, California, as well as, Oscar Mayer in Sherman, Texas. His nine years of field human resources experience included both union and non-union assignments and two plant closures. In 1995, Jim came to Kraft Foods Corporate Headquarters in Northfield, IL as Manager of University Relations and Professional Staffing for North America. Afterwards, he held Human Resource Associate Director generalist assignments with the Kraft Pizza Company and the Kraft Foods Research & Development Group. He was promoted to the position of Director of Diversity for Kraft Foods North America in January of 2001. Where he worked to expand the definition of diversity and develop strategies to advance the diversity agenda and enhance the organizational capability and align resources to support and drive key Kraft Foods’ organization excellence strategies and build upon Kraft Foods' recognized best diversity practices. In May of 2004, he was appointed to the position of Senior Director Human Resources for the Kraft Foods Snacks & Cereal Business Unit in East Hanover, New Jersey. In March of 2008, Jim was appointed Vice President Diversity for Kraft Foods, Inc. Jim received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Northwestern University. He served as President of the Employment Management Association Foundation and Vice President-at-Large for the Employment Management Association from 1999-2003. The Employment Management Association was a 7000 member national association of staffing and recruitment professionals. He served on the Advisory Council for the American Institute for Managing Diversity (AMID) from 2002-2004. The AMID is the nation’s leading nonprofit research and educational organization dedicated to promoting and furthering the field of diversity management and strengthening institutions and communities by changing the diversity dialogue. From 2005 through 2008, he served on the Board of Trustees for Morris Tomorrow a group of political, community and business leaders committed to improving the quality of life for the residents of Morris County.
