As Vice President of Finance for Takeda Pharmaceuticals, U.S.A, Inc., Helen Pring oversees all financial areas of Takeda, including financial planning, accounting and reporting, taxation, finance operations, procurement and the corporate project management office. Pring has financial responsibility for all U.S. financial entities and maintains reporting relationships in the U.S., Europe and Japan. Pring has a proven track record of turning businesses around through strong financial planning and sound business acumen. She is relied upon by the organization for her expertise and global experience which have been instrumental in carrying out mergers and acquisitions that have generated significant revenue for Takeda. She is often involved at the strategic planning stage of company-wide initiatives and held accountable for executing plans in highly changeable, ambiguous and uncertain environments.

Pring oversaw the financial terms of a major business development deal for Takeda in the U.S. She managed all financial aspects of the URL acquisition and the sale of the remaining business within ten months. The acquisition resulted in an immediate increase in revenue and strengthened Takeda’s presence in the U.S. by adding products that amplified the company’s expertise in primary care.

Previously, Pring was the Vice President of Finance and Controller at TAP Pharmaceutical Products Inc., a former joint venture between Takeda and Abbott. She was responsible for financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, business development and licensing financial support, treasury operations and purchasing. Pring was key in the deal design and execution between Takeda and Abbott when the joint venture was dissolved in 2008 and its subsequent integration into Takeda. 

Prior to joining TAP, Pring spent eight years in the automotive supply industry in the U.K., holding a variety of finance leadership positions in large multinational companies. She joined Abbott U.K. in 1999 as plant controller. Pring moved to Chicago in 2001, where she held finance roles in Abbott’s international division, supporting various manufacturing, distribution and commercial operations in the U.S., Latin America, Pacific Asia, Africa and Japan.

Pring brings a diverse background having worked in different industries and different countries. She is experienced in navigating global organizations, and interacting with people from diverse cultures across the world.
