Heather Cox
Heather Cox is Executive Vice President of U.S. Card Operations for Capital One Financial Corporation’s domestic credit card business. A Fortune 500 company, Capital One has one of the most recognized brands in America and serves more than 50 million customer accounts worldwide.
Since joining Capital One in 2008, Ms. Cox has led a large, diverse segment of Card operations that includes customer service, sales, debt collections, and horizontal operations. She is a member of Capital One’s leadership team for the domestic credit card business.
Prior to joining Capital One, Ms. Cox worked for E*Trade for nine years in various operational leadership roles including Senior Vice President of Operations, supporting all North American businesses.
Before joining E*Trade, Ms. Cox worked in a variety of financial services and banking positions with Advanta Finance Corporation, New Century Mortgage, and Household International.
In 2010, Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell appointed Ms. Cox to the Commission on Government Reform and Restructuring, charged with creating efficiencies in state government and examining ways for government to be more transparent and accountable.
In 2012, Governor McDonnell appointed Ms. Cox as a member of the Council on Virginia’s Future, which was established to develop a Roadmap for Virginia's Future and to assess the Commonwealth’s progress toward long-term goals.
Ms. Cox serves on the Board of the Capital One Foundation, providing oversight to grantmaking and programmatic initiatives that foster the link between quality education and community economic development outcomes. She also serves on the Board of LIFT, a non-profit organization whose mission is to combat poverty and expand opportunity for all people in the United States.
Ms. Cox earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
