Gwen Houston joined Microsoft in September 2008 as General Manager-Global Diversity and Inclusion, primarily responsible for accelerating the Diversity and Inclusion agenda worldwide. She is a recognized leader with over 17 years of experience in the Diversity & Inclusion practice. Before joining Microsoft, Gwen served as Vice President-Diversity for Campbell Soup Incorporated. In that capacity she was responsible for creating, promoting, and strengthening diversity programs at all levels of the organization. For the first two years of her tenure, Gwen also oversaw the global staffing and talent function.
Prior to joining Campbell, she was the Vice President of Diversity Capability and Business Development with Aetna Inc., primarily responsible for implementing change management strategies to leverage and integrate diversity across the company. She previously served as the Director of Diversity for Nike, where she was instrumental in designing, developing and implementing the company’s diversity agenda.
Gwen also served as the Director of Training and Assessment at the Memphis Diversity Institute; as the senior administrator of Federal Express Corporation’s Supplier Diversity Program − she helped launch this new initiative; as an assistant professor of Political Science/Public Policy at William Jewell College in Missouri; and served as Program Analyst and Staff Legal Counsel with the Texas Legislative Budget Board.
