Emily Simmons is Assistant Vice President of People Services Strategy and Planning at USAA. She leads the development and execution of people strategies for the organization’s 22,000-plus employees, as well as the associated workforce planning and analytics. Her team develops strategic workforce plans that provide long-range visibility into talent supply and demand, and facilitate enterprise decision-making about and portfolio investments in talent. She provides distinctive, data-driven perspectives and insights to inform alignment on the people issues that most impact USAA’s strategy.
Simmons joined USAA in 1998 as a customer contact representative. During her tenure with USAA, she has worked in various roles across the organization with a focus on workload and workforce management. Emily has extensive experience with strategy development and execution, workload/workforce forecasting, capacity planning, project execution, and process design.
She earned a Masters degree from St. Mary's University in Computer Information Systems and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M in Biomedical Science. She also holds the Human Capital Strategist certification. She has two children and three step-children.
