President and Co-Founder, Families and Work Institute

Ellen Galinsky is President and Co-Founder of Families and Work Institute. She is the author of over 40 books and reports, including the groundbreaking Ask The Children, and has published more than 100 articles in academic journals, books and magazines. At the Institute, Ellen directs or co-directs numerous studies and projects such as the National Study of the Changing Workforce, the most comprehensive nationally-representative study of the U.S. workforce and When Work Works, a project on workplace effectiveness and flexibility. Ellen also directs Mind in the Making (MITM), based on filming the best research on children’s learning. This initiative includes television shows, videos for families, and a curriculum for teachers and a curriculum for families as well as DVDs of the best research. Ellen’s book, Mind in the Making on essential learning-related skills will be published by HarperStudio in April, 2010.
