Dr. Daphne Mobley is what many may call a rarity – an African American veterinarian with a very unique corporate career. Since the age of 13, Dr. Mobley knew that she wanted to become a veterinarian, and steadfastly pursued her dream by excelling academically at one of New York's most prestigious high schools - the Bronx High School of Science. Upon graduating from Bronx Science, this New York City native found herself in rural Ithaca, NY at Cornell University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. After spending most of her life in the chilly northeast, Dr. Mobley headed south and matriculated at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine where she received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduating with her doctorate, she opted to work in the laboratory animal medicine discipline. As a result of her passion for excellence and commitment to her profession, Dr. Mobley passed the extremely difficult laboratory animal medicine board examination and became highly regarded as a leader in the laboratory animal science community. Dr. Mobley had a very successful career in corporate America, gaining significant business experience at leading pharmaceutical companies such as GlaxoSmithKline, Johnson & Johnson, Merck and most recently Wyeth (now known as Pfizer), where she spent most of her illustrious career. It was at Wyeth that Dr. Mobley had the rare opportunity to receive her greatest level of exposure to the most senior executives. Initially reporting directly to the former Chairman and CEO of Wyeth, her success eventually led to a promotion as the company's Vice President of Corporate Diversity. From the classroom to the boardroom, Dr. Mobley is a seasoned presenter to a diversity of national and international audiences. Her breadth of professional experience and passion to leverage her "lessons learned" have led Dr. Mobley to focus on executive coaching as well as speaking about her motivating life story, diversity/inclusion and career advancement fundamentals. As an experienced strategist and speaker, Dr. Mobley reveals essentials that provide an advantage over others that are simply maintaining the status quo.
