Dennis Murphy is the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Northwestern Memorial HealthCare. He is responsible for hospital clinical and support operations, Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group, and planning for clinical program development in Northwestern’s new strategic plan. He oversaw the development and opening of the new replacement Prentice Women’s Hospital, which opened in 2007 and is leading the service excellence program.
Before joining Northwestern Memorial in 2000, Mr. Murphy was the Vice President of Ambulatory Services and Business Development at the University of Chicago Hospitals. Prior to this experience, he spent 10 years at John Hopkins Hospital in a variety of roles from Administrative Fellow to Medicine Department Administrator.
Mr. Murphy earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1986 from University of Notre Dame and a Master of Healthcare Administration from Duke University in 1989.
