DeEtta Jones
DeEtta Jones founded DeEtta Jones & Associates, LLC in 2005. The practice’s portfolio includes a wide range of consortia, not-for-profit and corporate clients, and draws upon the talents of experts in their field to deliver the highest quality design and consulting. DeEtta has facilitated hundreds of workshops and been an invited speaker on diversity and leadership issues for audiences across the world, including China, Taiwan, New Zealand, Australia and Canada among others. She has developed and administered several national-level leadership and career development programs to recruit and promote the visibility of professionals from underrepresented backgrounds. All of the programs she developed still operate and she continues her leadership role with each of them.
Her corporate client engagements have included large scale organizational assessment, diversity strategy formation, and executive diversity council group formation and facilitation, to name a few. In addition, she has led client engagements related to employee resource groups—from formation and articulation of strategic plans to alignment with business objectives.
Before going into private practice, DeEtta spent ten years at an international higher education association—as the director of diversity initiatives and then as director of organizational learning. Other professional experiences include director of human rights advocacy and education for the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, and coordinator for multicultural training at Colorado State University. She has taught undergraduate and graduate level courses on leadership and diversity at University of Maryland, College Park and at Colorado State University. She has published a number of articles and book chapters on diversity.
DeEtta has a B.S. in Psychology and M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University and has an MBA from The Johns Hopkins University.
