Debra J. Nelson, MGM Resorts International Vice President Corporate Diversity & Community Affairs, is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the Company’s diversity initiative. She works closely with the Company’s Diversity Committee of the Board and senior executives to ensure diversity polices and practices are implemented. Previously, she held diversity management positions at DaimlerChrysler, Mercedes-Benz USA and Mercedes-Benz U.S. International where she developed and introduced national diversity and inclusion initiatives, helped recruit and prepare the workforce to manufacture a product for the global market, established government affairs and corporate philanthropy programs, and managed community affairs initiatives. Her work has contributed to MGM Resorts’ ranking on several important lists for diversity performance. She is founder of the annual Women of Color Conference in Las Vegas and a Hall of Fame inductee of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Nevada. Also, she is recipient of numerous awards and recognition for business leadership and community service, including Global Gaming Business Magazine’s “People to Watch” in 2010; Uptown Professionals Magazine named her among its Top 100 Corporate Executives in 2011.
