Corliss Fong
As Vice President for Diversity Strategies for Macy’s, Inc., Corliss Fong is responsible, with the company’s SVP, Diversity Strategies and Legal Affairs, for development and leadership of the company’s diversity strategy and initiatives. These initiatives align and integrate the diversity strategy within key areas of Macy’s business: workforce, marketing and communications, community partnerships, and supplier diversity. In her role, Corliss, and the corporate Diversity Strategies team, are actively involved representing Macy’s and supporting a number of corporate community partnerships, including the Black Enterprise Women of Power Summit, the National Urban League, The 100 Black Men of America, Inc., Latina Style, League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), the Asian and Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund (APIASF), the National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP), and the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). Macy’s, Inc. has been recognized for its leadership in Diversity by Latina Style, the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), DiversityInc, the Human Rights Campaign, Hispanic Business, and Essence Magazine.
Prior to her current role in the Macy’s, Inc. Corporate Office, Corliss was Director, Executive Human Resources at Macy’s West, a division of Macy’s, Inc., based in San Francisco. She began her career with Macy’s at its I. Magnin division, and held positions in the areas of store Operations, Credit, Customer Service, and Credit Marketing.
Corliss represented Macy’s on the Board of Directors, Mayor's Workforce Investment Board for San Francisco, 2001 - 2004; and served as Co-chair of the Employer Services Committee. She was a member of the United Way Education Issues Cabinet, 2002 – 2004 and on the State Leadership Council for Success by 6, 2003 – 2004.
In keeping with Corliss’ strong interest in literacy and education she also participated in the San Francisco School Volunteers, Literacy Program, 1997 – 2001, served on the Board of Directors of the Magnin Aid to Employees Foundation, 1992 - 2004; and is currently a member of the I Magnin Scholarship Committee and Donor Advised Fund of the San Francisco Foundation. She also served on the Board of Directors, International Credit Association, Bay Area Chapter, 1979 – 1991.
Currently, Corliss represents Macy’s, Inc. on the Advisory Councils of the American Institute for Managing Diversity, the eWomenNetwork Foundation, on the Board of the Ohio Division of the American Cancer Society in Hamilton County, is a member of the Bridge Partners Insights Editorial Advisory Board and the Xavier Leadership Center HR Senior Executive Advisory Board. Corliss’ commitment to youth and education is demonstrated by her involvement with scholarship organizations, such as the I Magnin Scholarship, the Greater Cincinnati African American Scholarship Fund, and the APIASF. Corliss is also serving in her fifth year as a mentor with the MENTTIUM 100 Virtual Mentoring program.
