Promoted to Regional General Manager/Vice President of Sam’s Club in February 2006, Betty Marshall is responsible for the management and operations of Sam’s Clubs within the South East Region of the United States. The South East Region consists of Georgia and Florida. Prior to being promoted to Regional General Manager, Mrs. Marshall served as Vice President/Divisional Merchandise Manager for Sam’s Club. Her responsibilities included purchasing, merchandising, sales and profit for all frozen/refrigerated foods and cafes for Sam’s Club’s U.S. locations. Mrs. Marshall joined Sam’s Club in 2003. Prior to joining Sam’s Club, she served as Chief Administrative Officer and Senior Vice President of The Phoenix Restaurant Group. Prior to her position with Phoenix Restaurant Group, Betty was Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications and Community Relations for Shoney’s Inc., where she provided leadership and served as spokesperson during the company’s critical cultural transformation phase. During her ten year tenure with the company, she was responsible for women/minority business development, corporate communications and corporate image advertising. Mrs. Marshall is on the Community and Advisory Board of Meharry Medical College for the Center for Women’s Research in Nashville, TN. Previously, Betty served on the Board of the National YWCA of USA, the Tennessee Minority Supplier Development Council, as a Commissioner of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority; and as an Advisory Board Member of Union Planters Bank of Middle Tennessee. Mrs. Marshall is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and is married to Harvey Marshall. They have one daughter, Melanie Brooks.
