Barbara Arredondo

Founder, ILSTN

Born in September 11, 1983 in Monterrey, Mexico, Barbara Arredondo is a noted cultural curator and journalist in peacebuilding. Her work has taken her to dozens of countries and has resulted in profiles of a number of her generation’s most promising peace-builders. Though young in years, she managed to gather 6,000 peacemakers in her hometown of Monterrey, Mexico for a weekend of intensive conferences and workshops with notables ranging from the Dalai Lama to Iraqi-born women’s activist Zainab Salbi.

Barbara worked as content director for the Second & Third Worldwide Meeting on Human Values (EMV2011.org) and as ED tech project manager for EducarUno and Kiran Bir Sethi. She has advised diverse projects and events such as the Lincoln Center Institute’s Imagination Summit and the Newark Peace and Education Summit.

Interested in creating new platforms for social change, she recently created ILSTN… in the beauty of others, a design thinking consulting agency whose objective is to curate experiences and projects that redefine human potential. As well as La Merced, an artisanal Mexican bakery + chocolaterie, which will focus on empowering women and small to mid size farmers in Mexico. Founders Daniela Santos and Barbara plan to open La Merced in NYC on 2012.
