Andra Shapiro joined MTV Networks as Counsel in 1988,  and during her 20-plus year tenure she has managed the Business and Legal Affairs Department for the Nickelodeon Networks group.

Andra is currently Executive Vice President & General Counsel for Nickelodeon as well as Co-General Counsel of Viacom Media Networks.

Prior to joining Nickelodeon, she was an associate attorney with the intellectual property firm Cowan Liebowitz & Latman. Andra has been a trustee of the Copyright Society, a Board member of Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, and was named a 2010 Diversity Champion by the NY City Bar Association.

Andra graduated Magna Cum Laude from Barnard College where she is a founding member of the Leadership Council of the Athena Center for Leadership Studies and its mentorship program. Andra holds a M.A. in Art History from NYU’s Institute of Fine Arts and a J.D. from NYU’s School of Law.
