Coping with the nausea that can accompany pregnancy is never easy, but it’s even harder when feverishly finishing up a report for your boss while hovering over a wastepaper basket. We spoke with Robert Biter, MD, founder of Babies by the Sea, for tips on keeping up pre-pregnancy productivity and managing morning sickness.

Food Cures

Stop a tricky tummy in its tracks with snacks like crackers, peanut butter, nuts and yogurt, and peppermint and ginger teas. Taking vitamin B6 and smelling citrus essential oils can help, too. And remember to munch before you start feeling nauseous.

Pressure Principle

Sea-Bands, which provide pressure on the wrist and restore your sense of balance, can also decrease waves of nausea.

Easy Does It

Jumping up from your chair and dashing to your 10 a.m. meeting can wreak havoc on an already sensitive stomach. So change your seated-to-standing position slowly to give your body time to adjust.
