It is snowing like you would not believe here. The overly pessimistic local “storm team” predicted it and boy are they excited that their prediction was actually right! As we all watched the snow come down non-stop from lunchtime on, it was announced at three that we should pack up and head home before it got any worse. I personally was thrilled to head home and pick-up my little guy early. As I was driving home I was struck by a man in a parking lot I was passed brushing his car off, he looked cold and the wind was blowing, but his car was clear of snow and ready to go. Instead of jumping into his warm car he turned to the snow-covered car next to him and began to clear the snow. What a wonderful surprise for that person when they came out to their car to see it cleared and ready to drive. A simple act of kindness by a stranger can make all of the difference in your day, your week or your life for that matter. I don’t “pay it forward” enough these days, I am too worried about getting to where ever it is I need to be. In 2010 I want to stop and do my part to make someone else’s day a bit better and hope someone does the same for me.
Pay it Forward
