What if they had Oscars for Moms? How cool would this be? Aside from the idea of getting all glammed up and having a carpet to stroll other than the one at home that needs vacuuming, it would be nice to be acknowledged for all the hard work we put into our “craft” day in and out. Just about all the categories are fitting for mothers:
Best Actress in a Leading Role – well, this speaks for itself. We certainly have the leading role in our children’s lives. Cheers!
Best Actress in a Supporting Role – Here again, support is what we do best!
Best Director – Ok, this is sooooo easy! We direct EVERYTHING!
Best Editing – Yup! We “edit” the behavior, attitude, outlook, direction, action and entire path of our children. We tweak until it’s just right (or as close to perfect as possible).
Best Writing Original Screenplay – Absolutely! We are certainly the authors of the production that is our children’s lives. And it’s as original, unique and special as each one of us.
Best Writing Adapted Screenplay – Surely many us borrow from the playbook that our own parents and other instrumental family members used on us. And thank goodness for it but it’s still our interpretation.
Costume Design – Can’t underestimate the importance of us being the stylists for our little ones and the thumb up/down for our older ones! We shape and oversee the image our kids project to the world inside and out.
Best Foreign Language Film - Ok, I can’t resist here but sometimes I do feel like everything I’m saying to my son is in a foreign language! I KNOW I’m not alone here. It’s ok, we do our best to decode and reinforce!
Best Music – Don’t we decide the beat to which our kids will march? Of course. Check.
And the prize of the evening…
Best Picture – the best of the best and we ALL deserve this prize and will be lauded by our kids for the rest of their lives for giving and doing and loving our very best!
The “Oscar” goes to...drumroll...all of you! Thunderous applause!

OMG!! LOVE IT! I receive my
