Rebirth and Relaunch!

Posted on April 18, 2011

With Spring comes that whole sense of renewal, especially this year when Winter did not want to leave. But for me, this is a week of very new beginnings. The snow is finally gone. The hyacinths are in bloom. My daughters are back to wearing skirts without leggings and we are coming closer to putting another school year behind us–and that means saying goodbye to middle school as my youngest preps for high school.

But most of all, it’s the new beginning you all share in. We have launched the new workingmother.com, a project I feel like it has been two years in the making since I arrived at Working Mother Media. It’s obvious from the bright colors that this is new. We have also clearly divided content into @work and @home, putting emphasis on the categories of information important to you.

While you will still be able to find archival content and expect the same quality stories, articles, guides, tips, advice, the latest research about women in the workplace and special events you have always looked for in Working Mother, we hope you will find everything easier to use, search, and enjoy.  While every website and brand in the world is talking about community, Working Mother Media has always been all about community!

We have always tried to educate, serve and connect working moms who don’t want to feel alone, who want to advance in their careers and still be the very best employee or entrepreneur as well as the very best mother they can be every day!

We hope the new workingmother.com offers you the community you seek through our blogs, comments, Facebook, Twitter, contests and sweeps, content that makes you laugh or smile, cry or get motivated.

Since this is your community, share what you think, what you enjoy or don’t.  We want workingmother.com to be a common homepage for every mom who works whether as a teacher, a medical professional, a corporate careerist, an entrepreneur or small business manager, a lawyer, a journalist, a union member, an hourly worker, a farmer or pilot, living in a big city, a small town or out on the range.

Our workmom bloggers now have better tools to share their stories, insights, expertise and career advice with all of us. Maybe you would like to become a blogger, too! Start an account today.

There’s always more to come here at workingmother.com.  Feel free to add news to Workmom News blog comments section.  It will be a great place for everyone to learn from each other.

Sign up free for our Working Mother Family Organizer–to keep you and yours on track and on time with tools from a color-coded calendar, to shared to-do lists, shopping lists and a family journal. So easy to use and you can take it with you on your Smartphone!  Smilebox is another place for working moms to get the best out of digital life. Create quick personalized greetings, scrapbooks or silly videos that you can email, download or print.

We will continue to bring you our lists of Best Companies and we have added a job search widget in the @work channel.  Download free Working Mother special iPad digital editions of 2010 100 Best Companies and the new 2011 Best Companies for Hourly Workers. Working Mother magazine is now on Nook and will be available in the iTunes store in June.

There’s always more to come here at workingmother.com.  Feel free to add news to Workmom News blog comments section.  It will be a great place for everyone to learn from each other.

See you on line
