The women who make up Working Mother's Most Powerful Moms in Social Media list are powerful influencers–reaching large audiences across all of the major social media platforms including blogs of all styles, Twitter, Facebook and Youtube. They also all have at least one-child at home who is under 18 years old.

For some on this list, life as a mom is at the center of what they write and speak about including Heather Armstrong, otherwise known as Dooce. Armstrong has accumulated over 1.5 million Twitter followers and a legion of fans for her blog by writing about family life in Utah. Others are businesswomen who happen to be moms, like Beth Blecherman, who writes about the latest gadgets on Techmamas.com, and who also serves as a social media consultant. Some of the women on our list have used social media to catapult their careers to the next level–including Ciaran Blumenfeld, whose social media prowess and blog, Momfluential.net, has allowed her to branch out and launch a line of children's clothing. Other women on this lists, like Ree Drummond of the Pioneer Woman (pictured), are making a substantial amount of money from advertising on their blog due their reach (Drummond says she earns $1 million dollars a year from advertising alone, but we cannot confirm that).

And while some of the women that made the cut may be considered controversial, you can’t deny that the flying fingers and vocal opinions along with the business acumen of these women have earned each their spot.
